In November 1479, Duke Alfonso di Calabria gave the name "Poggio
alla Fame" ("Hungry Hill") to the hill on which the modern-day
agriturismo of the same name stands, on account of an affront
he had suffered at the hands of the beautiful Ada De Montereggi.
Located just outside Colle di Val d'Elsa, it can even be reached
on foot from town.

Borgo Santinovo is an old medieval borgo which has recently
