This Renaissance building was constructed by Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere (later elected Pope with the name of Pope Julius II) from a former 11th-century Benedictine Abbey.
It is a very fine, ancient, two-storeyed building offering panoramic views of Colle bassa and Colle alta.

The hotel, situated in the upper part of town, the historic town centre, is in a 15th century building, Palazzo Renieri, alongside a very charming square, Piazza S. Caterina, which commands beautiful views both of the city and of the surrounding countryside.

In the lower part of town, in a former paper factory which made fine papers as long ago as the 13th century, this former industrial building was turned into the hotel we see today.
The facade, which still has its original, and attractive, arched windows, bears testimony to the characteristic architecture of antique paper mills.
