This Renaissance building was constructed by Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere (later elected Pope with the name of Pope Julius II) from a former 11th-century Benedictine Abbey.
It is a very fine, ancient, two-storeyed building offering panoramic views of Colle bassa and Colle alta.

In the lower part of town, in a former paper factory which made fine papers as long ago as the 13th century, this former industrial building was turned into the hotel we see today.
The facade, which still has its original, and attractive, arched windows, bears testimony to the characteristic architecture of antique paper mills.
